  • They Say...

Dallas is another sweet and appealing entry into the world of European pop, begging references to Swedish groups like Komeda or Ray Wonder, but also to the analog pop of Broadcast or Stereolab. Many groups have come along for whom these sonic references are appropriate, some of them rather uninspired (Cloudberry Jam), but Dallas fares very, very well -- a good share of hooks, smooth flourishes, and torchy arrangements, as well as a total dedication to pop sophistication, puts the band many steps ahead of others in the genre.
