  • They Say...

Ever since Run-D.M.C. joined up with Aerosmith for a version of "Walk This Way," rappers have been dying to do their own takes of hard rock songs. Nameless hip-hoppers get their chance on the obscure Tribute Sounds' label release, Hip-Hop Tribute to Def Leppard, which takes ten of the band's best-known songs and turns them into rap anthems. They actually end up working out all right, although the songs are chopped up and changed enough that they pretty much turn into their own entity instead of covers. Still, because nothing is that good (there's certainly better rap out there), the album will probably only appeal to huge Def Leppard fans who also love hip-hop. If that.
