  • They Say...

Well, at least they didn't name it Rusty Trombone. Dirty Sanchez's debut EP doesn't scrimp on the sleaze -- it can't, because that's really the L.A. trio's only trick, besides the rudimentary buzz of neo-electro beats backing up this brief clutch of dirty jokes. "I'm on my knees/Then I'm on my back/And you're suckin' on my toes like you're smokin' crack"; "Look at you with my hand down your pants/Check you out gettin' f***ed while we dance" -- Sanchez mouthpieces Jackie Beat and Mario Diaz keep it trashy and simple, limiting their exhortations during "Dig It" and the novelty bump of "Fucking on the Dance Floor" to a middle-school bathroom graffiti level. Cheeky references to "Terri Nunn bangs" aside, the most interesting thing about Really Rich Italian Satanists is its potty-mouthed cover of Soft Cell's "Sex Dwarf." Its presence ties Dirty Sanchez's electroclash novelty present to the prurience of past fetishists like the Cell, Revolting Cocks, and My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult.
