  • They Say...

Prior to releasing this first album on the Bully label, ElekTro4 issued a single and aided DJ Signify on the producer's Sleep No More album for Lex. Keystroke One shows him to be adept with breaks and samples, but none of it's particularly innovative -- in fact, a lot of it will seem redundant to longtime rap fans and followers of the Mo' Wax label (DJ Shadow especially). A few too many of the sampled voices, along with the beats beneath them, will sound too familiar. That said, some tracks are well crafted enough to rise above that issue -- even "Three Views of a Secret," which plays out like a suite inspired in whole by Endtroducing.
