They Say...
Sam & Dave (Sam Moore and Dave Prater) were easily the most exciting and explosive duo in pop history. Blessed with the writing and production team of Isaac Hayes and David Porter, and with the immortal Booker T. & the MG's behind them, Sam & Dave issued singles that detonated with gospel fervor across the radio airwaves in the late '60s. Eleven Best collects a few of those ("Soul Man," "Hold On! I'm Comin'," "I Thank You," "You Don't Know Like I Know") along with album tracks and covers, but this is by no means a complete Sam & Dave best-of. The Julian Synne "Millennium" remix of "Soul Man" that is included here seems unnecessary, and it works only as a curio.
