  • We Say...

It should come as reassuring news to Delgados diehards that lead single "Adrenaline" sounds like it could easily fit onto any one of their late-period records. Piano-led, with a propulsive bassline, the song mines the same soft verse/loud chorus formula that made the Delgados' best tunes so cathartic. There's little catharsis on Watch the Fireworks, however. Instead, Pollock invites you to do exactly what the title suggests: take a moment and enjoy life for the endlessly complex, fascinating, frightening and beautiful thing that it is. Or something like that. Either way, these literate pop songs'll serve you well in your quest to try and figure it out.
