Recalling both Carmen McRae and Ray Charles, the Philly native digs into an earthy and joyful "Sweet Lorraine," imbues "You Are Too Beautiful" with a bittersweet maturity, and fills "Solitude" with the bluesy melancholy of a life truly lived.
