We Say...
This collection of modern choral music from the countries ringing the Baltic Sea is nothing short of a revelation. In the first volume of a three-disc series, the astonishingly good EPCC and their excellent artistic director Paul Hillier — a longtime favorite in choral and early-music circles — offer the world-premiere recordings of three fascinating works (Veljo Tormis' "Latvian Bourdon Songs," Arvo Part's "...which was the son of..." and Peteris Vasks' "Dona Nobis Pacem") as well as pieces by Cyrillus Kreek, Sven-David Sandstrom and Einojuhani Rautavaara. Between the music's rich and varied textures and the musicians' consummate performances, this disc is a must-hear.
“ The indie iTunes — Hardcore music fans are migrating to eMusic, the iTunes Music Store's cheaper, cooler cousin.”
