  • They Say...

Fattburger returns to the smooth jazz scene with Sizzlin', and it's a bit of a return to the classic Fattburger sound. The addition of guitarist Evan Marks in the '90s gave Fattburger a more rocking sound at times, but on Sizzlin' there's little of the sort of fusion edge that had been popping up on their last couple records. Band co-founder Hollis Gentry only plays on four cuts, but his smooth saxophone stylings are perfect for the mood, and Carl Evans Jr.'s lush keyboards sound great. Crisp production, breezy melodies, and upbeat rhythms are the ingredients that should please fans of these longtime smooth jazz favorites.
