  • We Say...

The mysterious MHC steals the show on Kate and Nik Hodges newest EP, State of Play. Over the course of a remix and dub, he transforms the single from a pretty good synthpop number into an electro-house monster. MHC adds weight to the bass and further curls up an already gnarled synth line on both of his entries, priming the song for the dancefloor. Formatic’s “Radio Edit” of the song is nothing to sneeze at either — it drops the extended format for defined verses and choruses, while remaining no less anthemic. Past the versions of “State of Play,” the Hodges’ include the original version of 2005 dance chart hit “Over to You” and “In One Ear,” a song that’ll sound mighty familiar to fans of Rachel Stevens’ poptastic “Sweet Dreams My LA Ex.”
