  • They Say...

The Essence of Frank Sinatra is a 12-track budget-priced collection that culls highlights -- not necessarily hits -- from Sinatra's early years at Columbia. There are several classic moments here ("Nancy," "The Coffee Song," "I've Got a Crush on You," "Autumn in New York"), but the selection is too haphazard to make the collection a good introduction. Nevertheless, it's not bad as a sampler, since the music itself is very, very good.
