  • They Say...

VP Records' long-running sampler series Reggae Gold has become somewhat of a barometer of the international contemporary reggae scene, and this 2007 entry has some pretty cool stuff, including Shaggy's "More Woman," which is spun over an intoxicating garbage-can rhythm, a pair of strong tracks by dancehall veterans Elephant Man ("Bring It") and Buju Banton ("Bobby Red"), and Morgan Heritage's poignant and memorable "Brooklyn and Jamaica." [A bonus DVD adds music videos, artist interviews, footage of dancehall parties, and cover model photo shoots].
