  • They Say...

Her Space Holiday, masterminded by label guru and former hardcore player Mark Bianchi, produces an engaging brand of electronica-tinged dream pop. Audio Astronomy, the HSH debut, was originally released in the mid-'90s as a 12". This CD release emerged in 2002 with additional tracks. Even at this early stage, Bianchi clearly had his vision and production/writing chops intact; Audio Astronomy not only revels in clever studio atmosphere, but also in stirring melancholy. The older material blends fairly seamlessly with the newer tracks, and some highlights from the songs that appeared on the original release include "Slow Down Smile," "Pictures of Music," and "Dreaming." The reissue of this work, along with the inclusion of new music, is far from a closet-cleaning affair, for this is another fine release from Bianchi.
