We Say...
Hospital Ships is one man — Jordan Geiger, member of both Shearwater and the Minus Story. His own music is smaller than that, though. His voice is tiny and his songs have a kind of cracked, shuffling beauty. Strings and horns heave and wheeze behind "The Shots I Drank," and "I Want to Get Out" is all bloated brass band stomp and stagger. Geiger's voice is the fulcrum, though: tiny and tentative, he winds his way through his fractured arrangements, a tiny human at the center of the land of misfit toys.
