  • We Say...

Two of the most prominent players of their generation get together for a program of standards and originals, sans rhythm section. The results of this 1983 session are often scintillating, particularly so on Miles Davis' "Solar," on a freewheeling rendition of Wes Montgomery's "Four on Six" and on Abercrombie's "Even Steven." Their take on Sammy Cahn's "I Should Care" and Tadd Dameron's "If You Could See Me Now" are gorgeous additions to this intimate collaboration.
