  • They Say...

Texas Road Trip features a number of songs somehow affiliated with Texas. In particular, most of the songs deal with driving through Texas. And though this theme may seem a bit obscure, Compadre Records had no problem filling this collection to the brim with 20 songs. There aren't too many overly popular performers here, unfortunately, but the music's still rather enjoyable -- a worthwhile novelty collection, for sure. Some of the featured songs include Gary Nunn's "Road Trip," Nanci Griffith and Robert Earl Keen's "Swervin' in My Lane," Jack Ingram's "Runaway Cadillac," and Clay Blaker's "Heartbreak Highway," just to name a few.
