  • They Say...

Kill Your Idols blast through eight of their blistering hardcore anthems on their debut, This Is Just the Beginning. Although most of the disc is standard New York hardcore fare, the opening and closing cuts -- "Can't Take It Away" and "Shits Creek," respectively -- are memorable, and benefit from some concise lead guitar bursts from Gary, which goes a long way toward breaking up the disc's power chord monotony. The shouted vocals will please fans of the genre, but won't win any new converts.
