  • We Say...

Ragin' full-on: King Khan is the sound of garage days revisited, blasting out bleary rock songs decorated with seasick horn charts and topped with hoarse, hollered yelling. There's no secret formula to What Is?! It's grimy rock, direct to the jugular, stoned and Stonesy. Khan isn't a vocalist so much as a ringleader, coaxing the songs to their chaotic conclusions. Other retro-fitters sound strained or stagey, but Khan is the genuine article, a leather-clad party king whose songs are constantly in the red.
