Emo house, anyone?

  • We Say...

Christian Hilscher and Nico Plagemann have been creating music for a number of years together, but it's only been in the past few that they've actually been getting paid for it. They grew up, like a lot of young producers these days, in the netlabel scene, giving away their tracks for free on no-response.org.

The music has always been deeply emotional, however, and their debut release on the excellent Connaisseur imprint is no different. The title track is key here. It employs moody synths as a counterpoint to its buoyant melody, breaking it up enough to keep the whole thing fresh. And then they go ahead and throw orchestral washes on top, in case you weren't weeping on the dancefloor already. Emo house, anyone?
