  • We Say...

Alas, daughter Carol Tristano later overdubbed her (unobtrusive) drums onto this mid-'60s duo date with bassist Sonny Dallas, but pianist Lennie, master of the long jittery extemporized line, sounds uncommonly relaxed here.

  • They Say...

This LP-length CD contains five improvisations by pianist Lennie Tristano and bassist Sonny Dallas on "originals" based closely on common chord patterns and melodies. It was Tristano's wish that drums be added to these tapes at a later date so his daughter Carol Tristano overdubbed her rather basic timekeeping in 1993. Tristano collectors and completists will be interested in acquiring this CD but in reality the music is just average and nothing all that surprising occurs.
