They Say...
On Living Like a Millionaire, the Toilet Boys reinvent '80s pop-metal for a '90s rock & roll audience. If Poison spat fire on-stage and had more tattoos/less makeup, or if Mötley Crüe had listened to more Ramones records, their Sunset Strip sound might have come off with the Toilet Boys' edge. The glam-punk Boys run hard rock riffs against rowdy singalong lines like "Turn it up so we can rock & roll" and "Shoot it like a pistol," keeping Poison's "Nothin' but a Good Time" theme alive. Of course, with the Toilet Boys, pomp attitudes turn "rock & roll" into "rock & rowol," "pistol" becomes "pistayol," and there are many "yayah"s thrown in for good measure, but this kind of Kiss-worshipping rock would be nothing if it wasn't showy. Living Like a Millionaire is pure trash rock bliss from the trailer kings of the genre.
