  • They Say...

    One of the more diverse Ninja Tune compilations (though that's not saying much), Funkungfusion displays the Ninjas' 1998 expansion into musical realms other than abstract breakbeat/trip-hop. Among the new kids on the block are turntablist Kid Koala, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Luke Vibert, Clifford Gilberto, Cabbageboy (aka Si Begg, Burnt Friedman (aka Nonplace Urban Field), Marc Royal (of TPower's) Chocolate Weasel and Override. Though they have much in common with others on the label, the fresh acts make the album flow better than any other Ninja Tune compilation out there.
