New rhymes from a legend of deep-south hip-hop

  • We Say...

Percy Miller is a legend of deep-south hip-hop, creating New Orleans music's single most famous brand name of the past three decades, No Limit Records, in the mid-'90s and scouting talent ranging from Mia X to Mystikal to Lil Romeo (Miller's son) to C Murder and Silkk the Shocker (Miller's brothers). He's also a much-loved MC, and on America's Most Luved Bad Guy, Miller, a.k.a. Master P, gets back on the mic once again following his early-'00s "retirement" from rapping, and continues to do what he does best: Selling his status as a ghetto celebrity over insinuating, drum-machine-driven beats and sub-bass lines. "Why you don't like me/'Cause your girl like P/You better do the right thing like Spike Lee,” he taunts a rival on the self-explanatory "I'm Shinin'." A decade and a half into the game, it's good to see the guy still has his sense of humor intact.
