  • We Say...

While Jorge Reyes might be the musical equivalent of Castaneda's Don Juan, Stearns (synths) and Sunsinger (native flutes and field recordings) might be Casteneda themselves. Sorcerer is a magical meeting with a brujo from start to finish and Stearns and Sunsinger are our guides. From the location recordings and deep hum of descending night on the initiatory "Little Smoke" to the epiphanous and holy "Cicharisca: Finding the Path with Heart," this is an expansive journey of ethno-ambience and indigenous wisdom.

  • They Say...

After being silent for six years, Michael Sterns returns with the full-length experimental ambient album Sorcerer in September of 2000. The album was inspired by spirtual writing from Carlos Castaneda, resulting in a dark, abstract world created by Sterns and Ron Sunsinger; using environmental sounds, bowed metal, and acoustic instruments. The result: Sorcerer is a highly abstract piecing together of noises, absent of beats or melodies.
