  • They Say...

Originally released as an LP on yellow vinyl, (Live) Heroes is one of many collections of live and studio tracks by Nico released in her last years and after her death. She begins her cover of David Bowie's "Heroes" by asking the crowd, "Why do you give me so much gratitude?" Her own "Procession" and a cover of the Velvet Underground's "All Tomorrow's Parties" are arranged by and performed with "the Invisible Girls," while the version of another Velvet Underground & Nico number, "Femme Fatale," features the Blue Orchids. "My Funny Valentine" proves to be an excellent choice for a cover song, as it was on Camera Obscura, and Nico has long since made the Doors' "The End" her own. This is a relatively brief, not particularly outstanding collection of familiar songs that will be of interest largely to confirmed Nico fans.
