  • They Say...

Led by multi-instrumentalist Tony Campbell, Nite Flyte's Ascension is a sparkling collection of smooth and steppers-oriented jazz. The first single, "Lift Off," has a funky, gonna-get-you gait that's in the mode of MFSB's "Love Is the Message." The stepper crowd embraced the track to the point that Instinct Records rush-released an extended steppers CD mix single attaching it to the album. Other standouts are the up-tempo cuts, "Coast to Coast," "Open Your Heart," and "Tuned In-Spaced Out," as well as the sweet, mid-tempo "The Love I Give."
