  • They Say...

Outrageous Cherry's self-titled debut is an entertaining introduction to their retro-experimental sound. Their first single, "Pale Frail Lovely One," remains one of the band's finest moments, encapsulating the light and shadows of their sound. The sunny "Til I Run Out" and extended, noisy guitar bursts of "The Stare" and "Ace 100" demonstrate Matthew Smith's writing and playing versatility and Deb Agnolli's effective, minimalist drumming. [The 2007 reissue of the album includes three bonus songs; one is an unreleased demo track.]
