  • They Say...

This 1973 release was produced by Creed Taylor for CTI and featured Turrentine backed by many of the stars who often appeared on the label, including Bob James, Eric Gale, and Joe Farrell in supporting roles. Strings are also present as embellishment, in keeping with the smooth and soulful CTI sound. Reissued on CD in 1988, the 2003 CTI/Legacy version added four tracks: "Pieces of Dreams," "Mississippi City Strut," and "Harlem Dawn," as well as an alternate take of the Marvin Gaye-penned title track.
