  • They Say...

As the title implies, Darker by Light is on the dark side of atmospheric ambience. Robin Storey (aka Rapoon) has surrounded his malevolent atmospheres with intense percussion. The rhythm heightens the senses of mystery and intrigue. Experimental riffs and passages complete the sound design. The atmospheres, rhythms, and experiments weave in, around, and through each other as deep drones slam the mystery home. Those four elements compliment each other seamlessly and complete the soundscape. This is great dark ambience that is just a little too active to be minimalism. It will appeal to fans of Stephen Philips, Lustmord, Jeff Greinke, and Numina.
