They Say...
While this collection is stocked with well-known country singles ("Take This Job and Shove It", "Big Bad John", etc.), the versions presented are all later re-recordings by the artists. While there is only a nominal difference in some cases, much of the material here lacks the spark of the originals. This means that Number 1 Country Collection will not satisfy the way some of the better (i.e., with original recordings) country comps out there do, and relegates it to the casual listen or background music at best.
