Three decades of bona fide hits from the 37th President of the United States.

  • We Say...

Talk about longevity — our 37th president had three decades of bona fide hits. People of a certain age still get misty-eyed over the then-VP's beloved Hit Parade favorite from way back in '52, "Checkers," the heartbreaking ballad of the campaign-contribution cocker spaniel. In the '60s, Nixon created his own strain of acid rock, bowing out of politics after berating the press with his famous protest anthem "You Won't Have Nixon to Kick Around Anymore." Later, of course, he provided the soundtrack to the messy '70s with such funky blockbusters as "I'm Not a Crook," "Never Been a Quitter" and the notorious bootleg "Watergate Tapes." Obama may have will.i.am and Hillary may have, uh, Bill's saxophone, but presidencies rarely rock with the volume that Nixon's did.
