  • They Say...

Freddie Hubbard's installment of Sony's This is Jazz series is devoted to his fusion records from the early '70s. While these recordings won't be of much interest to fans of his hard bop classics, Hubbard nevertheless skillfully navigated the funk grooves and soul vamps of fusion, creating music that truly grooved. This disc contains many of the highlights from his CTI records, and is a good sampler for the curious.
