An unassuming, unshaved fellow from Jena, Germany builds serious momentum...

  • We Say...

Few artists in the micro/minimal realm are more popular with their fellow DJs and producers than this unassuming, unshaved fellow from Jena, Germany, who also records as half of the Wighnomy Brothers. Musically, he’s as close in some ways to hip-hop as to techno, with a habit of utilizing found-sound snippets as frequently as computer squonks and blurts; early on “Pontifekks,” from this four-song EP, he even includes a record scratch. He also builds serious momentum, makes you look up from what you’re doing whether you’re in the club or at your desk and generally messes around and makes you like it.
