They Say...
Robert Shaw's Songs of Angels: Christmas Hymn is an easy listening collection of classic carols and hymns. There are no contemporary songs -- it is supposed to capture the spirit of an olde-tyme Christmas. Since Shaw's arrangements are a little syrupy and mainstream, it doesn't quite reach its goal, but it's nevertheless a fairly entertaining listen that would work nicely as holiday background music.
