  • They Say...

Lifestyles' Home for Christmas: Instrumental collection is most effective when it keeps things simple. The rustic and earthy pluck of a hammer dulcimer does wonders on yuletide standards like "Silver Bells," "O Come All Ye Faithful," and "The Holly and the Ivy," but the pan flute-led "Silent Night," "Away ion a Manger," and "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear" sound like unintentional parodies, while the smooth jazz arrangement on "Angels We Have Heard on High" could play in a loop over your local forecast on the Weather Channel for days (where it belongs) without ever registering as a familiar holiday classic.
