  • We Say...

Years after his heyday as part of Brand Nubian, Sadat made a comeback of sorts, appearing on high-profile cuts alongside Beanie Sigel ("Bread and Butter") and Missy Elliott. Hopefully, this means people won't overlook his third solo album which, despite the highfalutin title, is some of his best material in almost a decade. With his unique, reedy voice and great production from personal favorites Minnesota and the P Brothers, this record had plenty to offer for both longtime fans and newcomers to The Cult of Sadat X's Flow. "Come on Down (Remix)" is a punching bag-like assault, with Eddie Cheeba and GS challenging all comers. Another favorite was the spaced-out "Shine," featuring longtime Sadat friends and grimy heroes the Money Boss Players ditching material for the transcendence of craft.
