  • They Say...

This second volume in the complete chronological recordings of Sonny Terry covers everything from 1944 to 1949, excepting his Capitol recordings from this period, which are collected in a separate package. Terry's joined by the likes of Woody Guthrie, Cisco Houston, Alec Seward, and others on a delightful brace of country blues and folk tunes, including an unissued version of "Rain Crow Bill," an alternate take of "Goin' Down Slow," and hot versions of "Silver Fox Chase," "Lost John," and "Pick a Bale of Cotton." Nice transfers, good notes, and a lot of great music.
