  • They Say...

Suzy Thompson's Stop & Listen was recorded live at Berkeley's legendary Freight & Salvage club. A collection of fiddle rags, blues, and swing tunes, it puts on offer Thompson's stunning skills as an instrumentalist -- and she's no slouch as a singer, either. Given the loose and rough and tumble nature of the proceedings, Thompson's enlistment of the Thompson String Ticklers -- who include Eric Thompson, Dave Murray, Dan Kluger, Dan Warrick, and Ben Sigelman -- as well as the smoking guitarist Del Rey makes a for a celebratory affair. Standout tracks include "Black Cat Swing," "Sweet Loving Old Soul," and "Love Nuggets & Gravy."
