We Say...
Refreshingly out of sync with popular music trends, the freestyle/synthpop act Information Society continue to ply their trade as though their massive hit "What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy)" were still on the charts. You'll hear the sort of bright keyboard work that typified the genre all throughout the aptly titled Synthesizer. But what makes Information Society far more interesting than their adherents is their wicked sense of humor — one listen to the Kraftwerk-inspired "I Like The Way You Werk It" will prove that much. While the Faint and others joylessly ape former greats, Information Society's aural raspberries prove that they take themselves as seriously as they need to. It doesn't hurt that they seem to have no trouble writing a killer tune either.
