We Say...
Everything's Perfect is equal parts Les Savy Fav and SST, smart and stupid, fun and more fun fun fun. Team Robespierre are from Brooklyn and have several singers, the primary one being a dude named Ty who has a goofy, standard-punk bark and who plays riff-y keyboards that bang and sometimes twinkle. "Mal de Mar" brings it on like a high school-halftime cheer ("BroooooookLIN!"); "88th Precinct," the longest song on the album at a whopping three minutes, is pure Les Savy Fav epic mayhem; and "Plutonium Pigs" is Black Flag with keyboards. Not all of it is great, but at least the bad songs never stretch past two minutes, and they never stop bringing that kid-brother obnoxiousness that is so integral to their charm. See them live, for sure.
