  • We Say...

Temple of Sound is the brainchild of two former members of the pioneering Transglobal Underground, Neil Sparkes and Count Dubulah. As Undergrounders, the duo helped provide a bridge between dance music and world music and, more importantly, play it live (a novel thing at the time). Temple of Sound is a similar proposition: the duo work with a number of collaborators on Globalhead (Natacha Atlas, Jah Wobble, Adrian Sherwood, among others), but the sound is still very much rooted in the dub and world music genres. This might be a problem if Temple wasn’t crafting interesting new takes on the form. Lucky for us, tracks like the ethereal “Wings of Desire,” the strident “I'm a Stranger Here Myself” and the frenetic “Afrika Temple” very much prove that they are. Enjoy.
