  • They Say...

The four songs on the Hermit Crabs' debut EP are classic Scottish indie pop, from the gently strummed acoustic guitars and restrained drums down to the fragile vocal harmonies and sweetly sung melodies. Singer Melanie Whittle has a similar voice to Camera Obscura's Tracyanne Campbell as well. Unfortunately, while the band has the sound down pat, apart from the very catchy lead track, "Feel Good Factor," the songs aren't up to par with their competition. Despite this, the EP is very pleasant and gives hope that with a little time, the group may record something on the same level as their inspirations.
