The German Repertoire label has reissued both of the Honeycombs' studio LPs with bonus tracks; oddly, they don't include quite a few of the group's A-sides. All six of those missing singles can be found on this reissue, along with most of their other best-known songs. Two of these A-sides are standouts: "Is It Because," a small hit in the U.K., is a driving number, and "Eyes" one of the spookiest productions from a man (Joe Meek) who specialized in them. If you pick this up thinking you'll forego the fanatically repackaged CDs for a 14-song greatest hits collection of this interesting but minor British Invasion band, be warned: the version of "I Can't Stop," the minor U.S. hit that was their best song, included here is not the original, but an inferior remake from their second album.
