  • They Say...

Blastin' out of Texas, but sounding a lot more like Yankee crank rock bands such as the Dead Boys, the Supersuckers, and the Gaza Strippers, the Riverboat Gamblers want to do nothing so much as play balls-out, full-on rock & roll for you. There's no new ground broken here -- you're not gonna hear something that you can't hear on a Hellacopters record, for instance -- there's just hyperbolic cranked-out rock & roll jams for your groovey pleasure. Plenty of tipping of the hat to the band's forbearers is on this album as well; they even do a great version of Joey Ramone's "Slug," getting the nasal sneer down and everything. Great music for blastin' out of a car, or getting completely drunk to at some show in some smoky, sweaty, and packed bar.
