Sonically, the Silent Years are ready and eager to cover any and all bases. The Globe drifts effortlessly from tracks that hit hard, with exuberant electric guitar ("Climb on My Back," "The World's Worst Birthday Gift") into those that are whimsical indie-pop delights ("Pay It Back," "Out in the Wild"). And then there are the beautiful ones, like "On Our Way Home," which manage to squeeze both ends of the spectrum together into four-minute masterpieces.
