  • They Say...

Hailed as England's answer to Dream Theater, Threshold's second release should have carried a "green" seal of approval. This is environmentally conscious progressive metal, which has to be the first of it's kind. Vocalist Damian Wilson has an adequate range and all of the musicians are technically competent, but there is nothing new here. They are closer to power metal bands, such as Savatage and Blind Guardian, than to the progressive likes of Dream Theater. There are plenty of crunchy riffs here and decent playing, but the environmental preaching gets to be a bit too much.
