  • They Say...

This 11-song collection marks the final recording session of the original group, about a year before the untimely death of drummer-lead singer Steve Wahrer in 1989. While the recuts of their classics "Surfin' Bird" and "King of the Surf" don't hold a candle to the manic energy of the originals, their set list takes on "House of the Rising Sun," "Summertime Blues," "Believe What You Say," and "Love's Made a Fool of You" reveal a band that never lost its touch. The other three remaining tracks feature the current lineup with the drumming talent of Mark Andreason (brother of lead guitarist Tony) standing in for Steve, keeping the tradition alive and the heart of rock & roll still beating with a shot of fresh blood. This includes the title cut, a strong indication that this band still has a lot of gas left in the tank.
