  • They Say...

Something Vicious for Tomorrow/Time Whore compiles two Treepeople EPs onto one CD, the latter having been out of print for several years beforehand. Something Vicious is the stronger of the two, with the group's songwriting skills having developed more; under the sheets of fuzz and distortion, the guitar interplay of Scott Schmaljohn and Doug Martsch is also a bit more refined. Highlights include the power pop of "Liquid Boy," "It's Alright Now Ma," and an angry cover of the Smiths' "Big Mouth Strikes Again."
