  • They Say...

Recline compiles standout tracks from most of the San Francisco downtempo dance label's best producers. Some of the more noteworthy producers/remixers featured here include the Wamdue Project, Sylk 130, I:Cube, DJ Cam, Future Loop Foundation, and Zimpala. Since this album functions more as a sampler than a DJ mix album, particularly since none of the songs are mixed together, it's more orientated toward those who hope to learn more about the label's roster of talent than those looking for an exceptional listening experience. Nonetheless, this is still a satisfying listen: firstly because all of the producers are quite creative and secondly because Six Degrees emphasizes eclecticism as part of its aesthetic, resulting in an album that is both marvelous and adventurous without being too self-promotional or too out-there for its own good.
