They Say...
Volume seven in this series of rarities (which includes alternate takes and 13 formerly unissued performances) has music that blues collectors will certainly consider valuable. There are a couple odd sermons from Deacon Mose, and then performances from Alice Pearson, Clifford Hayes' Louisville Stompers, Lonnie Johnson, and an entire session by Casey Bill Weldon, Southern Sons. There are also four unissued numbers from Big Bill Broonzy from 1945-47, two real obscurities from Alberta Hunter in 1946, three songs from Merline Johnson's final recording date, two songs from Roosevelt Sykes, and three numbers by Alonzo Scales. Quite a variety of mostly rewarding music.
